Join Our Team

We are always looking for talented and enthusiastic therapists to join our team in some capacity. Whether it is a full-time staff member or a guest therapist at one of our practices or joining us at a private event or VIP gig. If you are interested in talking about the opportunities, you can email Joe directly at Joe@TouchFactorMassage.com or use the form below.

A Note From Joe

I named my practice Massage Reimagined for several reasons. The obvious reason was to reimagine the client experience. However, just as importantly, I wanted to reimagine the massage therapist's experience. You will see that this is a very different opportunity than what most employers are offering. We are going on our 6th year, and the only therapists who have left have either moved out of the area or opened their own practice, with my full blessing and support. I even keep them on our website with links to their new practices.

You do need some serious skills, techniques, and a highly developed therapeutic rationale to work here - but those can always be learned and improved upon. The most important things for me at this point are the intention in, and the quality of, your touch. How creative and intuitive you can be, and your ability to focus on delivering the best client experience possible every time.

You also need to be a lifetime learner and improver. I offer a lot of free continuing education and fly some pretty special people in a couple of times a year to give my team private training. I will also challenge you to grow as a therapist and person at every chance that I get, which sounds great in theory, but honestly just does not work for some people.

Right now I am going through the book, Unreasonable Hospitality, with my staff. Even though it is about the fine dining industry, it has a lot to say about how we can treat each other as well as our clients. It will also give you an idea of the culture I am trying to create at Massage Reimagined.

If all of this sounds compelling, please reach out and talk to me, or one of my therapists about the possibilities.

Take care,

Joe Lavin

Some Employment Details

Compensation

Currently, our staff members make at least $56.25 per service-hour at our two main practices, $70 per service-hour for outcall, and between $70 and $100 per service-hour at our spa. This is in addition to your tips. We also pay you your full expected pay for any late cancellations or no-shows.

Your Schedule

We are pretty easy on scheduling. We will work together to find the best schedule for you that works for the practice and other staff members. You do not need to be here if you are not scheduled, we do not do any walk-in appointments. You take vacations when you want, we just ask that you take care of blocking off your schedule.

Continuing Education

Plenty of it! We fly in several very special massage therapists each year to train our staff privately at no cost to them. In addition, our staff can take almost any of the classes that we put on at our massage school, most of which are taught by our founder, Joe Lavin, who is a very gifted therapist and teacher.

Staff Trades

Trades can be difficult to schedule at busy practices. So we pay for a 90 minute massage at any of our practices for every therapist, every month. You just schedule with the therapist that you want to receive from as a regular client. We find that this is the best way to make sure all of our therapists get monthly massages.

Guest Therapists

We want to work with the best therapists possible, but often, we find that the best therapists already have a full-time caseload or commitment to another practice. So we created the guest therapist position so that these really talented therapists can drop into one of our practices once a week, once a month, or even once a year and enjoy the freedom that we offer and to be extremely creative during their massage sessions.

On Call and VIP Gigs

We are constantly getting more appointment requests than we can accommodate, and we love to be able to invite some therapists in to help us when we do.

We also get several short-notice requests from celebrities and athletes visiting Seattle, which are hard for us to fit into our schedule and we need to know the therapist we bring in or recommend can provide the quality of experience that we do.
